PARCC TESTS:
Require 10 hours of class time, plus preparation. Do not help guide your child's learning—last year's results arrived 5 months after the test. Have not been properly field tested. Are poorly designed and confusing (see practice tests at parcc.pearson.com). Get more information:

OPT OUT FACTS:
MAP results, not PARCC, are used for selective enrollment, grade advancement and graduation. Opting out of PARCC will not affect your child, Blaine or teacher evaluations. No school has ever been denied federal or state funding due to students refusing to test. Every student will be treated with respect whether they take the PARCC or not. Blaine students who opt out will receive regular or enrichment classroom instruction. Please submit a new opt out request letter each year. |

Fill out the form and turn into your homeroom teacher. You can choose to opt out of PARCC anytime during the testing window even if your child have completed some testing units.
